Early County 1829
Back in 1829, Mitchell County had not been founded. In fact, at that time, even Baker County, which Mitchell was created from, did not exist. The area was known as Early County.
Baker County 1839
By 1839, Baker County had been carved out of Early.
Baker County 1851
This is the beginning of Mitchell County, before it was carved out of Baker County in 1857. This map is from 1851.
Mitchell County 1860
This is a snippet from a map from 1860 - just 2 years after Mitchell County and Camilla were founded. As you can see, Camilla had not yet been added to this map.
